A private, offline GPS journal for travellers. Your data never leaves your device.
I lost an entire 6-week European trip when Google Timeline silently deleted it. TripRewind exists so that never happens to you.
— Daimo, founder
Background GPS that survives screen-off, swipes, and reboots.
No account. No cloud sync. No company holds your location history.
Tap any trip to watch your route replay, stop by stop. Stops are detected for you — a long stay at one place stays a single stop, even if you wandered around the venue and back.
Your live position on the map, zoomed to how you're moving, with speed and altitude.
Distance, total climb, and highest point — right under every trip's title.
Elevation and speed graphs across your trip — scrub one and your route follows along.
When a trip ends, TripRewind writes it up as a short log — when you set off, how far you went, where you stopped and for how long — weaving in your named places and any notes you made along the way. Free, for every trip.
Sunday 5 July 2026. Set off at 07:37. Drove 61.2 km, stopping for 1 hour 25 minutes and for 2 hours 52 minutes — beautiful Rosedale Oval. Arrived back where it started at 13:42. Total: 61.2 km, 6h 4m.
That "beautiful Rosedale Oval" is a voice note made at the oval, woven in where it belongs. And notice it says "back where it started" instead of naming home — the writer's home is a privacy zone, and privacy zones are never named, not even in text. Name your places and the log uses them: "Set off from Home at 08:14… Arrived back home at 18:46."
No cloud, no AI, no language model. The paragraph is written on your device, from your own trip data — and it stays there unless you choose to share it.
Every trip has a shape — the climbs, the descents, the fast open stretches, the crawl through town. TripRewind draws it for you: elevation and speed, end to end, linked to your route on the map.
These graphs are one real day's driving, drawn from the trip's own GPS track — no map data, no elevation service, just what your phone recorded. A 143 km round trip that never got above 237 m yet still climbed 915 vertical metres in total. That's the kind of thing you'd never guess from the map alone — the profile is where you find out.
The dashed cursor is the part you have to feel: drag your finger along either graph and the dot on the map slides to that exact point on your route. Press play and the cursor rides along with the playback. Spot the summit on the graph, and the map shows you where it was. Made for mountain passes, flights, and the long rides where “how much did we actually climb?” deserves a real answer. Part of the one-time Rewind unlock — no subscription, yours forever.
Every journey exports in open, standard formats — GPX, CSV, KML, JSON — so your data works in the tools you already use. No lock-in, ever.
Strava, Komoot and Garmin only record when you remember to press start — TripRewind records in the background the whole time. Export any trip as GPX and import it into Strava, Komoot, Garmin Connect or AllTrails whenever you like. The ride you forgot to log is already on your device.
Export any trip to KML, open it in Google Earth, and watch a satellite flythrough of exactly where you went — every stop, every turn, animated over the real terrain. It turns your GPS track into a film of your journey.
Set a privacy zone around your home — or anywhere else — and TripRewind clips the route before it goes into any export or share card. The full track still lives safely on your device; what you share is up to you.
Record and export forever, free. Unlock the full experience once — no subscription, no rent.

In typical use (Auto mode, background recording), TripRewind draws about the same as Google Maps or Strava — around 5% per hour on an Android phone. That's roughly 20 hours of continuous recording on a full charge, enough for most full-day trips. Flying uses far less. If you charge your phone once a day, you're covered.
Yes. Add a privacy zone around any location — 250m by default, any distance you like — and TripRewind will never share paths inside that zone in an export or share card. The points still live in your secure backup, just not in anything you share. Privacy zones are a free feature, always.
Very. A trip can span months or minutes, and trips can overlap freely. On a six-week European odyssey, you might have one trip covering the lot, another for a single day, and several inside that same day. They all fit together, with your notes and photos attached. Relive any of them, forever — and share any of them.
TripRewind records using your phone's GPS chip, which works independently of mobile data. You need a data connection to view map tiles, but recording itself requires no internet.
Recording resumes automatically when the phone boots. Any gap will be small and clearly marked in your data.
Yes. GPS works anywhere with sky visibility. No signal required.
Restore your complete history to a new device from your encrypted backup. If it's a different phone, you'll need your recovery phrase — generated when you first back up. Keep it in your password manager and you can move your data to another phone whenever you like.
No. Location is a phone thing more than a PC thing, so we built for Android and iPhone. Your data stays on your device — which means no web dashboard, by design.
Settings → Clear this device. This securely wipes all recorded points — you're always in control of what's on your phone. If you just want your data off temporarily (say, while crossing a border): back up, clear the device, and delete TripRewind. Once you're through, reinstall and restore the backup. Restoring to a different device always requires your recovery phrase.
